Small Groups are an essential part of this congregation. Here at Mt. Nebo UMC, a small group is the place where individuals are welcomed and supported as they study together, pray for one another, and hold one another accountable in living a life that reflects their love for Jesus.

Financial Peace University

When: Sunday - starts September 12, 2021

Time: 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM

Group Leader: Jacob and Sarah Clubb

Where: Classrooms 2 and 3 (or contact group leader for Zoom option)

What: Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-week lesson course that teaches you how to save for emergencies, pay off debt quickly, spend wisely, and invest in your future. Face to face class will enjoy dinner together (meal is at no cost to participants)

Women's Early Morning Group

When: Tuesday

Time: 7:00 AM

Where: This group meets on a virtual format

Group Leader: Kristine Brookover

What: Beginning Fall 2021, this group is using the study,Set Apart, by Jessica LaGrone. This study examines the holy habits of the prophets and kings who walked closely with God. Prophets and kings struggled yet still grew in their faith through spiritual practices. Group discusses life application of this.

Prayer Group

When: Tuesday

Time: 10:00 AM- 11:30 AM

Where: Chapel in the Woods (weather permitting)- During inclement or cold weather, group meets in classroom 1.

What: This small group meetings for time of devotion and praise, then prays for the needs within our church, community, country, and world. Consider being part of this vital minstiry small group that meets weekly.

Midmorning Women's Small Group Study

When: Wednesday- Starts October 6, 2021

Time: 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM

Where: Classrooms 2 and 3

Group Leader: Linda Henry

What: 8- session video based study of the Book of Psalms. The book of Psalms is well-known and well-worn. It is the Old Testament book most often quoted in the New Testament, and its quotations can be found everywhere. Experience fresh connections to contemporary worship and devotional practices throughout this study.

Heart to Heart

When: Wednesdays beginning September 15, 2021

Time: 7:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Where: Church Narthex

Group Leader: Elise Starkey

What: This group will use the book She Did All She Could by Elisa Morgan. Based on the woman who annointed Jesus's feet with expensive perfume in Mark 14, this book helps us understand that it does not take grand gestures to accomplish what God wants us to do. Great to look at little things that make a big difference in God's Kingdom.

Shoulder to Shoulder Men's Small Group

When: Choose to meet either Wednesday or Thursday (same lesson- choose the evening that works better for your schedule

Time: 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM

Where: Admin Building

Group Leader: Dan Reed

What: Shoulder to Shoulder is presently reading and using a study guide for the Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis. Shoulder to Shoulder studies together, prays for one another, and shares concerns and praises with one another.

Hand to Hand Women's Emmaus Share Group

When: Saturday

Time: 8:45 AM - 10:30 AM

Where: Ministry Annex

Group Leader: Arminta Dunn and Sue Craycraft

What: The share group meets and goes to breakfast at a local restaurant for a time of sharing and prayer.
